In early August 2008 I was notified by Paypal that in November 2008, Paypal will discontinue globally, support for MSB’s
(An MSB is a Money Service Business – AuctionChex is classed by Paypal as an MSB)

AuctionChex and other MSB’s were given 90 days to find an alternative payment processor.

Because of this Paypal policy change, I spent August trying with Paypal to make AuctionChex an exception to the rule, and spent September trying to find a suitable alternative payment processor, unfortunately I have failed on both scenarios.

As a result, from November 13th. 2008, I have had to remove Paypal as an option for buyers to send a payment to AuctionChex.

Buyers (payment senders) will still be able to use AuctionChex, but they will have to select a different option to send payment to us.

Buyers in the UK can send (for free) a direct GBP bank transfer or a GBP cheque/postal money order.

Buyers in mainland Europe with a Euro bank account can send (for free) a Euro IBAN/BIC direct bank transfer.

Buyers in the USA and Canada can send a USD money order or a direct USD ACH payment to our USA bank account.

Buyers in the Australia/New Zealand can send a USD money order available at their local Post Office.

Buyers in the South Africa can send a direct ZAR (Rand) ACH payment to our SA bank account.

Buyers can also select Credit Card as an option, and is available to most countries worldwide.

This Paypal policy change will of course adversely affect our transaction volume, but it will be a manageable change, and AuctionChex will survive and continue to operate just as it has done since 2003, albeit with less payment options for buyers to use.

I sincerely hope these changes are not too disruptive, and AuctionChex, where possible, can and will continue to provide an economical alternative payment service acceptable to most of your buyers.
